Who We Are
We are local real estate agents, brokers and webmasters. Our experience as agents and brokers, combined with our willingness to embrace internet technologies provides us with a perspective on the real estate industry that is complimentary to more traditional real estate concepts.

Although I am not a real estate agent, I fully support your initiative: if you let this pass, what will be next?
I am a member of a very large professional organization as well (IEEE). Never in our most remote nightmares would we even imagine our organization dare to use the code of ethics to suppress our choices.
Keep up the good work!

I’m a realtor who believes that since I have used my MLS websites for approximately four plus years, I should continue to do so since I include a statement it is not affiliated with my board of realtors website and the MLS was not a trademarked name.
The NAR is being foolish if they think it will stop the use of MLS by realtors if non-realtors can use them…Realtors can simply have a non-realtor utilize there site and send referals. The NAR needs to realize that there are too many realtors who have been utilizing the sites for years…MLS is an old term, now you have IDX, MLX, etc.
I paid $2,400 for my MLS domain name…and I was featured on CNNMoney.com because I was a succesful small business person who utilizes my MLS internet wisely.
I will fight to keep it…or simply give it to a non-member to use. I will still receive all of the referrals / clients. Then the NAR has actually done nothing but encouraged more websites with basically no code of ethics.
I believe the NAR does not want the (Realtor.com) site to compete with independent realtor MLS sites…My site is successful so I don’t need to advertise and spend tons of money with REALTOR.com to advertise. Could the NAR be trying to have a monopoly over independent realtors who are trying to make an honest living.
I believe that if a realtor links to an IDX feed…They are not misleading the general public just trying to help…therefore the general public is getting a licensed realtor verses a marketing company.
All MLS domain owners will need to band together…Brokers and old timers are fighting the MLS domain owners because they were not as innovative and forward thinking…and the MLS domain owners are successful…

We have operated our website for ten years as MuncieMLS.com. We have spent thousands planning, building, and promoting our site. It is on all of our marketing materials and greatly enhances our real estate industry as well as our company. The site DOES NOT in any way compromise our local board because our home page clearly shows our company name and photos of our building, etc.
Our board recently sent a letter requesting us to review a letter from our state association and showed ONE case where a board prohibited a broker’s use of the name MLS based on article 12. We are currently working on new URL names, but we will utilize the court system if necessary to challenge any rediculous local or state decision to prevent or inhibit the use of our major investment in dollars and marketing.
If a class action lawsuit is filed, we will participate to maintain our website operations because of principal. Every company could have utilized the word MLS, if they chose to.
Our site opened in the 1996 era, is
when this should have been discussed, not ten years later. If NAR chooses to outlaw the use of MLS, we will abide as long as all the other MLS sites are closed. Please advise any updates to Patrick@orrhomes.com! Thank you!
